- Coach homes offer a great opportunity for investors and those looking to downsize
What is a coach house?
A coach house is a small, detached dwelling located on an existing lot.
The houses are built in line with the Ontario Building Code, along with guidelines to be released by the City.
Why would I want one?
If you have unused space on your lot, it’s a great way to bring in some extra income. Coach homes are perfect for those looking for affordable housing, or to downsize.
When can I get one?
The City of Ottawa has released a draft proposal for building coach houses. The consultation was met with great interest from both the general public and developers. Enter your email in the box above to be kept up-to-date.
These examples are provided in the City’s preliminary guidance documents, to give you an idea of what types of lots are suitable for Coach Houses (‘Secondary Dwelling Units’).
The flexibility offered by the City’s regulations means that Coach Houses are an incredibly versatile property, which can be tailored to fit most lots.
We are Antilia Homes: a small team of Canadian Property Developers with a wealth of experience. We have developed and sold a number of homes in the Ottawa area, handling everything from the preliminary site inspections and drawings right through to interior finishings.
We are proud to be one of the first Coach House builders in Ottawa, and are excited at the possibilities this new legislation brings. If you have any questions please get in touch with us using the form, or by emailing us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
